I’ve always felt confident I would ace the MDCN exam with AceMedix! With the MDCN recall practice and OSCE sessions with other members of AceMedix, it felt like a guaranteed penalty shot on goal! “I arrived for the exam on the OSCE day at 7am. After waiting several hours, my number was called and I went into the hall. I was a little nervous but I just tried to keep my cool and I told myself that I was ready. We had also prepared for some questions that were flying around, so I tried to be calm. The first shocker was that at my first station, there was a young doctor who asked my name and if I was afraid. I replied that I was just a little afraid. He then told me not to worry and that he understands that we have been there since 7am and it wasn’t fair to us students. He then told me to calm down and explained that whole station to me (zoonotic diseases) and told me that although I won’t be starting at that station (due to the simulation of the Oder), I should dwell on what he has shown me so when I get back there, I would know what to say😃😃😃😃. I was in shock, and this suddenly boosted my confidence. I went on to other stations and did my thing without any fear or doubt. Although the doctors in my cell didn’t go out of their way to help (except two doctors), they also weren’t mean to me. Most of them made little corrections to point me to exactly what was in their marking scheme. And some of them gave signs of approval by nodding their heads or giving a thumbs up after the exam. One thing for sure is that without GOD and the help of ACEMEDIX, it would have been almost impossible. I felt adequately prepared and knew almost everything that I saw at the OSCE. Wow! I can’t put into words how grateful I am to Acemedix and the tutors. I had only about two months to prepare from this exam. My first attempt at MDCN Exam in Kano was unsuccessful. I was shattered, didn't know where I went wrong. I joined Acemedix in the beginning of July, 2018 with the hope that I would blast MDCN. I even attended the National Hospital program where I paid 200 thousand naira. I was sure that being involved in the tutorial and rotation in the hospital would make me pass without stress. I missed some days of the tutorials, but there was one thing Dr. Livinus would always do, he would take the classes and do revisions. I wasn’t the go back to my book person. So, I just took notes but didn’t go through them after lessons. I kept reading bigger textbooks without knowing that my success was in my little brown book from Acemedix. I didn’t make it in November, 2018, so, I did another tutorial with Dr. Livinus for the May 2019 exam and had another book that I didn’t ignore. I still didn’t pass but all my friends did. I cried for just a day and told myself I have all I need to make it. I took a trip to ease myself from all the trauma and stress and I got back a gingered doctor. I brought out all my notes from Acemedix and I dissected them. This time, I didn’t touch any textbook—just those materials. I remembered everything from my notes and could answer any questions my study mates asked me. They were always marveled and would ask where I got my materials from. I never wanted to write a testimonial but I believe I need to show the people that helped me some gratitude. Well, I had been studying a great deal at home and working at the hospital for months, but I still felt a void because I didn’t know the precise way of attacking this exam. I don't know where to start from. Acemedix has really helped me. On the OSCE day, my confidence level was on top, thanks to the mock sessions we did. For me, I think Acemedix mock sessions were even stricter, because my invigilators in the actual exams were so friendly. In my counselling session, the two invigilators told me ‘very good,’ then I was 100% convinced I will make it. In my clerking session, the man was wowed and he marked everything good for me. I wrote the exam for the first time and passed because God, through Dr Livinus, directed us on how to adequately prepare for this examination. Of course, I’d never trade the place of God’s grace and favour with anything as that is really the backbone of everything I do in my life. Dr Livinus made everyone comfortable and very welcome. He helped us study smart, not studying things that were not necessary. We studied a variety of topics daily (minimum of seven topics). I will forever be grateful to Dr Livinus. The tutorials helped me a lot. As a fresh medical graduate, the tutorials helped me streamline my reading and also to understand how things are done here in Nigeria. AceMedix tutorial is certainly not your regular tutorial. Grateful I opted for this particular one amidst others. Dr Livinus had a way of putting us through all the basics in a very SMART way. De“First of all, I have to say that this tutorial was far more valuable than I expected. What we paid was peanuts compared to the degree of dedication and work that Dr Livinus put in. Our classes were well-planned (3 times a week), with an online arrangement for people who couldn't attend live classes. Every week, we had high-yield OSCES, MCQS and clerking, counselling and physical examinations practice, distributed into the 3 days of live classes. High-yield topics were well-dissected during corrections of these practice sessions. Lectures were also given occasionally, but the emphasis was on mastering the MDCN format (MCQS, OSCE stations, clerking, counselling and physical examinations). Mock exams were held in accordance with the MDCN format. Dr Livinus was available round the clock for our questions, in and outside the classroom. His technique was so good that some friends who attended other were always excited about getting his OSCE materials. Honestly, we got the best value for our money.
